This popular resort and residental community is located mid-island, sitting on 1,800 acres.  There are three miles of ocean beach, 11 miles of winding lagoons, miles of bike paths and one of the largest tennis centers on the island, with 25 courts.  Palmetto Dunes is also home to the famous world class marina, Shelter Cove Marina and the exciting Harbourfest celebration.  The Hilton Resort and the Hilton Head Marriott Beach and Golf resort also are located in this plantation.
